Place Marcel Aymé Sculpture

This Montmartre sculpture of a man walking through a wall is a tribute to author Marcel Aymé, who wrote in many genres, but is best known for his short stories - most notably, Le Passe-Muraille (The Man Who Could Walk through Walls).

This grand sculpture, the Four Parts of the World Holding the Celestial Spheres, circa 1872 is the work of Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux (1827-1875). The four females represent Europe, Asia, Africa and America.
